Mr. Howard Wilson Eason, age 87, of Douglasville, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Mr. Eason was born January 25, 1918 in Italy, Texas to the late T. Howard Eason and Vena Owens Eason. Mr. Eason was a life long resident of Douglas County. He helped build the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta during World War II. He was employed as a metal repairman at the Lakewood General Motors plant for 31 years, retiring in 1978. He was the first manager of Little League Baseball in the Bill Arp community in 1954 and stayed active in youth sports into the 70's. Mr. Eason was a 50 year member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge. He was a devoted member of of Pray's Mill Baptist Church since his teens, serving in many capacities including a deacon for many years. Mr. Eason was preceded in death by a son, Fred H. Eason, one brother, one step-brother, six sisters and one step-sister. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Eloise Davis Eason, Douglasville, GA; son, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Brenda) Eason, Douglasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Fred H. (Donna) Eason, Douglasville, GA; sister-in-law, Zula Eason, Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Laurie (Julian) Kaplan, Todd (Lisa) Eason, Kristi Noble and Jamie (Amy) Eason, great-grandchildren, Stephan Kaplan, Glenn Montcalm, Blake Montcalm, Garrett Eason, Alexandra Kaplan, Davis Kaplan, Allie Eason, Logan Eason, Reagan Eason; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services for Mr. Eason will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 2:00 PM from Pray's Mill Baptist Church, with Reverend Mike Everson officiating. (The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM). Interment will follow in Pray's Mill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
