DECATUR - Mary Ellen Wilmert, 75 of Decatur, formerly of Mattoon, went to be with the Lord 7:25 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 22, 2002) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Cox officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Mary Ellen was born March 14, 1927, in Altamont, the daughter of Donald and Venus Price Turner. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church or Mattoon and Ladies Aid in that church. She was the retired private secretary for Dick Lumpkin at Illinois Consolidated Telephone co. She married Foster Kilman in 1945. He preceded her in death. She married Arthur G. Wilmert on Sept. 23, 1990 in Mattoon.

Surviving are her husband; son, David Kilman of Birmingham, Ala; daughter, Julie Nichols and husband John of Kingston; stepdaughters, Wendy Strocher of Decatur; Lori Horchen and Husband Randall of Lincoln; sister, Joyce Antonini of Marquette Heights; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and a sister, Thelma French.
