Funeral for Elmer H. Martin, 90, Tuttle, was held Saturday, 4/11/1998, in Sowers Memorial chapel, Tuttle. Rev Wayne Childers officiated, assisted by Rev Bill Gentry. Pallbearers were Eddy Littlejohn, Paul Williams, Jay Heffron, Bill Larson, Ken Worthen, & Paul Lomax.
He was born 11/8/1907 in Atkins, Arkansas, the son of John Alexander & Alice (Horton) Martin. He died Thursday, 4/9/1998 in Tuttle. Mr Martin moved from Duncan to Tuttle and had lived in the Tuttle area for 21 years. He and Ruth Marie Owens were married 10/17/1932 in Allen. Mr Martin retired from Sun Oil in Duncan in 1972. He became a member of the Southern Baptist church at Allen in 1947. He was a former Mason. Mr Martin was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers, & 1 sister.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Tuttle, 1 daughter & her husband, Venita Louise & Ronald Shaw of Tuttle, 2 grandchildren, Pamela Mackey & husband, John of Wellston, and Martin Alan Walker of Oklahoma City, 2 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Sevier
