ZURSCHMIEDE - Eleanor E., 80, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at her residence. She was the widow of William P. Zurschmiede. She is survived by her sons, William J. Zurschmiede (Theresa), Cincinnati, OH and Kevin P. Zurschmiede (Paula), Floyds Knobs, IN. Visitation: 11a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oak Street Chapel / Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

A funeral Mass for Eleanor E. Zurschmiede, 80, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 8, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. She died Friday, September 2, 2011, at her home. She was a native of Greenville. She and her late husband, William P. Zurschmiede, formerly owned and operated the old Zurschmiede Grocery. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a former member of the New Albany Pilot Club. Survivors include two sons, William J. Zurschmiede & his wife, Theresa, of Cincinnati, OH, and Kevin P. Zurschmiede & his wife, Paula, of Floyds Knobs; two sisters, Virginia Schuck, of Bradenton, FL, and Margaret C. Hess & her husband, Bill, of New Albany; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Jacob & William Zurschmiede. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Mary Kiesler Beach, a brother, Ernest Beach and a sister, Pauline Hess. Visitation at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes will be from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
