She was the dau of the late Bogar & Eula (Parsle ) Caldwell and the widow of Andrew K Brumfield.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Manford Caldwell.
Emogene was a homemaker & a loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She was formerly employed as a cook at Ferndale Elementary Schl in Kenova. She was a memb of the Jefferson Ave Ch of God in Huntington, where she was a former memb of the Sanctuary & Golden Voices choirs. She served the Lord faithfully for more than 53 yrs & was a true woman of faith.
She is survived by her daus, Shirley (Carl) Stanley of Catlettsburg & Debra (Charles) Harmon of Fountain Hills, AZ. She is also survived by her grands, Brent (Mindy) Stanley, Beth (Jack) Hulett of Catlettsburg, Jeanna (Pete) Slodownik of Phoenix, AZ, & Christa (James) Harding of Wasilla, AK; & great-grands Dylan Stanley, Ryder Slodownik & Kendra Hulett. Survivors also include 3 bros, Ted Caldwell, Bob (Ruby) Caldwell & Butch Caldwell of Kenova; & 3 siss, Barbara Ruth (Don) Watts & Judy (Danny) Roy of Kenova & June (Ted) Kennedy of Ft Payne, AL. Mrs Brumfield is also survived by her longtime great friends & siss-in-law Louise Starr, Janet Maynard & Darlene Bias. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews & other special friends.
Emogene donated her body to the Marshall University Human Gift Registry. As she gave so much to so many in her life, she continued to give in her death.
A mem'l service to honor her life and legacy will be at 11 a.m. March 6, 2012, at Jefferson Avenue Church of God. Pastor Paul Ray Farley and Pastor Rod Justice will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the building fund at Jefferson Ave Ch of God, 2039 Jefferson Ave, Huntington, WV 25704.
