Mr. Adam Crosser was born in Pleasant County Pennsylvania, in March, 1797 and died at his home at Pleasant Township, Iowa, on October 30, 1889, being in the 93 year of his age.
He removed to Richland, Ohio with his parents, where he lived and spent several years. In 1856 he came to Iowa, and settled in Hardin County, where he spent the remainder of his days.

Mr. Crosser's parents were Lutherans, and he was baptized in his infancy and brought up under Christian influence. He was an active man until 3 years ago when his health failed, by a partial paralysis of his system. About seven weeks before his death, he fell and broke his thigh, from which he never recovered, and was not able to leave his bed. Of nine children, five are living, who with an aged companion, morn his death. Two of the children, one son and one daughter, and several grandchildren were present at the funeral which was held on Saturday, November 2 at the P. M. Chapel, in Pleasant Township. Rev. J Dolphin, of Eldora, officiating.

Adam C Crosser’s (1795-1889) parents were Adam Crosser 1750-1821 (son of Johann Adam Crosser 1724-1798 and Maria Magdalena Bard 1721-1793) and Anna “Barbara” Clapsaddle 1758- unknown (daughter of Johann Michael Clapsaddle 1722-1786 and Catherine Bard 1725-1795).

His first wife was Margaret Archer (mother of all of Adam's children) born 1804 in Pennsylvania and died in the mid 1850s in Wood County, Ohio. Burial location unknown. Adam C and Margarget were married on 4 Mar 1824 in Richmond County, Ohio. Children were Delilah 1824-1878, Elizabeth 1828-1857, Daniel Clinton 1831-1902, Silas D 1832-1919, Lewis 1835 - about 1850, Simon D 1839-1910, Margaret 1842-1913, Adam M 1842-1921and Lodema 1844-1878.

Five of Adam C's nine children came with him to Iowa (Deliliah, Daniel Clinton, Margaret, Adam M and Lodema). Simon moved to Iowa, but not the Hardin County area.

Elizabeth stayed in Richland County with her husband James Archer. Silas moved to Rock Bluff, Nebraska around 1860. Lewis appears to have died in the late 1840s (he does not appear in the 1850 census).

Adam's obituary references 5 children who were alive at the time of his death. They were Daniel Clinton (NE), Slias (NE), Simon (Farragut, Iowa), Margaret (Hardin County, Iowa) and Adam M (Hardin County, Iowa). The obituary also references two children who attended the funeral. They were most likely Margaret (Crosser) Johnson and Adam M. The 4 children who preceded Adam C's death are Delilah (d 1878), Elizabeth (d 1883 in Richland County, Ohio), Lewis (d 1850 in Wood County, Ohio) and Lodema (d 1878)
