On January 1, 1915, in El Reno, Oklahoma (Canadian County), William married Lydia Demuy Reese, who was born July 21, 1890 in Kimball, Kansas (Neosho County), daughter of Samuel Reese and Lucy (maiden name unknown). William and Lydia ultimately had two sons and a daughter.
In 1930, William, a post office employee, age 56, born in Illinois; and Lydia, age 38, born in Kansas; were living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County), with their three children: Charles R., age 11; William H. Jr., age 7; and Patricia, age 6; all born in Oklahoma. The census shows that William and Lydia were ages 41 and 23, respectively, when they married.
William died April 12, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) and was buried there in the Rose Hill Burial Park. Lydia died December 11, 1970, in Waco, Texas (McLennan County) and was buried in Rose Hill Burial Park beside her husband.
