"History of Oakland Co., MI," by Samuel W. Durant, Philadelphia, L. H. Everts & Co., 1877, pg. 202:

"The first frame house was built by Eber Adams, about 1835. It is the same now occupied by Elisha and Melvin A. Grow [1877], on section 29.

"In the year 1834 or 1835, Eber Adams located in the east half of the SE 1/4 of section 22 and the NW 1/4 of the SW quarter of section 23, and thereby secured a good water-power. A few years afterwards he sold to O.P. Davison."
