Opal Kathryn Whittington, 86, of Qulin, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in Mark Twain Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Malden, the daughter of the late Guy E. and Cora Margaret Vancil Scott. She married Eugene Whittington on July 5, 1944, in Piggott. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1966.

She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Qulin.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis "Bo" Scott and one sister, Christine Huber.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, with Rev. Gary Hancock officiating. Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
