Clinton Orla Aley,
69, Topeka, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at a Topeka nursing home.

Mr. Aley was a computer programmer and systems analyst for the state of Kansas. He retired from Social and Rehabilitation Services in 1992. He served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War, where he was introduced to computers, and he had been involved in computers since then.

He was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Topeka, the son of Walter Blaine and Nettie E. Lydic Aley. He graduated from Berryton High School and he attended Washburn University.

Mr. Aley was a member of Aerie No. 4319 of the Eagles Lodge, Moose Lodge No. 555, Elks Lodge, Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, and Phillip Billard Post No. 1650 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a brother, Edwin B. Aley, Allentown, N.J.; and a sister, Ella Aley, Topeka.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gable Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Aley will lie in state after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
