Funeral services were held last Friday for Mrs Sarah Scribner, who passed away on Wednesday, Dec 15 [1926], at Shell Lake, WI at the home of a son. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Rev. HW Bell, pastor of the local Methodist church, had charge of the services, and interment was made in the local cemetery beside the husband, whose death occurred here [Wadena, MN] some eight years ago.
Sarah Elizabeth Scribner was born February 28, 1836 in Clinton County, NY. She was married to John B Scribner Dec 29, 1853, and to this union 11 children were born, nine of whom survive: James, Springfield, WI; Charles, Wadena; Mrs Ella Davison, Taylors Falls, WI; Jerry, Comstock, WI; William, Shell Lake, WI; Bert, Staples; Isaac, Truman; Eugene, Donnelly; and Mrs Emily Rhinehart, Madison, SD.
The Scribners came to this state in 1865 and for some time lived in this city. Mrs Scribner made her home here with her son, Charles, for awhile after the death of her husband. Those who survive, have the sympathy of the entire community.
