Bertha E. Farmer, age 93, of Adrian, Michigan died on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Magnum Health & Rehabillation in Adrian, Michigan.
Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Rev. James Williams of the Church of God, Flat Rock will officiate the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, South Rockwood, Michigan.
Born on November 2, 1917 in Flat Rock, Michigan, she was the daughter of Robert and Clara (Schafer) Oestrike. On September 3, 1938 she married Clarence A. Farmer in Detroit, Michigan.
Bertha was a member of the First Congregational Church of Flat Rock. She was a 1936 graduate of Flat Rock HS and enjoyed gardening, baking and canning goods.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Richard Farmer, 3 sisters, Mae Ziegler, Hazel Topolewski, and Marie Morrison.
Surviving are 2 sons, Robert (Wilma) Farmer of Adrian and Roy (Cindy) Farmer of Adrian; daughter, Barbara (Vern) Faidley of Ames, IA; brother, Ernie Oestrike of Detroit, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Congregational Church of Flat Rock Soup Kitchen.
