Social Reformer, Author, Medical Doctor. Founder of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Besides his many professional committees and boards, he served as chair of the African Medical Education Fund and of the Museum of African American History board of directors. Dr. Wright was personally responsible for the delivery of over 7,000 babies born in the City of Detroit. In addition, Dr. Wright was active in the civil rights struggle which took him to Africa, Cuba, Columbia, Selma, and Bogulusa, Louisiana. Dr. Wright had awards, too numerous to mention, and publications such as books about the National Medical Association, and Paul Robeson; his personal hero. He founded the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, a highlight of his life that is the largest museum of its kind in the world.
