Robert Neil Ahrendt 2011-09-08 / Obituaries December 2, 1956 - September 1, 2011 Robert Neil Ahrendt was born December 2, 1956 in Giddings, Texas and is the son of Robert & Janie (Tucker) Ahrendt. Neil was a life long resident of Lexington where he graduated high school. He worked for ALCOA for 32 years and retired as Maintenence Supervisor. After his retirement, he went to work for Halliburton as the Parts Supervisor. He was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church, served on the Lexington Park Board, Lexington Fire Department, Lexington School Board for 18 years, Lay Leader for the West District and served on a number of church committees. He and Patricia Marek were married June 7, 1975 in Dime Box at the Brethern Church. Neil passed away at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin on Thursday, September 1, 2011. He reached the age of 54 years, 8 months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by an infant son and Father In Law, Joe Marek. Surviving are his wife, Pat Ahrendt of Lexington, daughter, Crystalyn Keating and husband Steven of College Station, granddaughter, Sophia Elyse Keating of College Station, and parents, Robert & Janie Ahrendt of Lexington. Also surviving are brother, Kevin Ahrendt of Lexington, sisters, Belinda Robertson & husband Jimmie Dale of Lexington and Jan Lynn & husband Barry of Tanglewood; Brothers & Sisters in laws, Walter & Dorothy Moerbe of Lexington, Mike & Judy Westbrook of Dime Box, Gordon & Sherry Lehmann of Dime Box and Mother & Step Father in law, Ann & Clarence Chernosky of Dime Box. Services were held at 10:00 AM Monday at the Lexington United Methodist Church with Rev. Lance Richards officiating. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were his nephews Cory Robertson, Chad Robertson, Chase Ahrendt, Russell Moerbe, Jeremy Schnyder, Joshua Schnyder, Nick Westbrook, and Bradley Lehmann.
