---Nelson Wilbur D'Water, 89, of Olivet, died Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Borgess Medical Center.
---Mr. D'Water was born on March 17, 1922, in Union City, to George W. and Alice R. (Chapman) D'Water. In 1947, he married Lou Ellen Cole in Coldwater. Their marrage ended in divorce, but they still remained great friends though out the years she survives. On November 4, 1989, he married Ethelyn A. Feer-Billman in Marshall. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2011.
---Mr. D'Water was a millwright for many years at Hayes-Albion, then Harvard Industries. He also owned Nelson's Junkyard in Homer. Mr. D'Water enjoyed raising horses and goats and working on his farm. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family especially time with his grandchildren.
---He is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Loren) Ackerson of Oscoda, Caroline Comb of Lake Odessa, Dorothy Janusz of Coldwater, Kathleen (Thomas) Jackson of Osseo, sons, LeRoy (Lois) D'Water of Tennessee, Ronald (Beverly) D'Water of Mancelona, Nelson (Gloria) D'Water Jr. of Marshall, Larry (Terri) D'Water and Terry (Vicki) D'Water, James D'Water all of Coldwater, and Tim (Susie) D'Water of Litchfield. He is also survived by his step-children James Billman and Janet Roberts both of Marshall, 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a sister Rolene (Daryl) Klingaman of Tekonsha. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lillian Jenkins, and three step-sons Wesley, Clayton, and John Billman.
---Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8pm with family present to greet friends at that time. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 1:30pm on Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend James Codde officiating. Interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery. Family requests memorial contribution be made to the Calhoun County Relay For Life. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
