Pauline Farwell, age 89 of Ozark, passed away July 26, 2002 in Ozark River view Manor. She was born November 3, 1912 in the Shady Grove Community, southwest of Sparta, the daughter of Robert and Lunda (Johns) Gann. On January 26, 1929, she and Clell Oran Farwell were married. Pauline was a lifelong resident of Christian County, and was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Ozark. Pauline, along with her husband, owned and operated a store in Abadyl for several years. Later they owned Sparta Auto Supply until 1970. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Pauline loved her family and was endeared with the name of "Grandma Poonie" by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clell; five sisters, Beulah and Bertha Gann, Gracie McCoy, Dema Kissee and Lola Forgey; two brothers, Lester and Leo Gann; and a grandson, Marty Snider. Survivors include two daughters, Vivian Clinton and husband George, and Marolyn Snider and husband Bob, all of Ozark; grandchildren, Jim and Joyce McGillen, Dennis and LaDonna Clinton, Scottie and Pam Snider, and Ron and Sandy Girth; great-grandchildren, Jared Clinton, Erin Snider, and Shawna, Kyle and Letesha Girth; a sister-in-law, Agnes Hall, Nixa; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Robert Long officiating. Burial will follow in Shipman Cemetery, southwest of Sparta. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund. Springfield News-Leader, July 28, 2002.
