In October, 1961, Harry suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, due to coronary disease, and was admitted to the Morgan County Hospital in Martinsville. 36 hours after his stroke, he died. His brother, Myron, helped the doctor fill in his death certificate. The doctor noted that Harry was Black.
