Captain, United States Army Artillery Capt Reilly took part in quelling the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1900.



Capt Henry Joseph Reilly was born on 24 Sep 1845 in Ireland. He entered the US Army in 1864 as a private and was promoted through the ranks to corporal, then sergeant. On 1 Dec 1866, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant and was later promoted to First Lieutantnt, then to Captain, the rank he held when he was killed in action at Peking.
