Ida Alexander outlived both of her husbands. Her first husband was John Fatheringham. He preceded her in the death in 1922. Her second marriage was to William K. Alexander. She resided in rural Marion township, Jasper county, Missouri on route 3 outside of Carthage, Missouri

At 74 years of age she passed away at McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage of heart disease.
