Moving to this area 59 years ago from Wallace, WV, he worked in the cold strip at the former Crucible Steel Mill before his retirement in 1975. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II and enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.
His wife of 58 years, Carmen L. (Starkey) Pigott passed away on February 22, 2005.
He is survived by two sons: Frank Pigott of East Liverpool and Rex Pigott of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters: Naomi Pigott of East Liverpool, Cecilia "Punk" Farnsworth and his devoted son-in-law Bill Farnsworth of East Liverpool and Donna Smith of San Juan Capistrano, CA; six grandchildren: Billy Farnsworth of TX, Tina Batchelor of FL, Jim Smith of MT, Jackie Hay of MT, Patty Osbourne of OH and Becky Pigott of OH; fourteen great grandchildren: Jeff, Amanda, Jenna, Brittany, Christopher, Maille, Katie, Travis, Byron, Trace, Bradon, Cameron, Audrey and Catlyn as well as one great great granddaughter: Ayla.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son: James Pigott, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968; one daughter: Lola Pigott; one granddaughter: Tammy Pigott; two brothers: Harry E. and Franklin G. Pigott; two sisters: Audra G. Stout and Viola F."Toots" Conaway; one half brother: Curtis Pigott and four half sisters: Hattie Bennett, Eva Griffith and Bell Lyons and May Hall.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Schneidmiller of Grace Bible Ministries officiating.
Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group and the West Virginia National Guard Honor Detail will accord military honors.
