"Pops" died August 29th in Anchorage surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Egegik on December 3, 1935 and was a lifelong Alaskan and commercial fisherman. He served in the Navy from 1954 to 1955. He was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed gardening, driving, having his wife around and animal watching.
According to his family, "Pops" was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He brought joy to everyone's life who got the pleasure of meeting him. He will and already is being missed.

He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Justina "Jessie" Alto of Egegik; 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Gerald & Candy Alto of Egegik and Rodney & Joyce Alto of Naknek; 3 daughters & son-in-laws, Terri & Duane Albright and Tina LeHuquet both of Egegik and Ruth & Andrew Peterson of Wasilla; 1 sister, Alfie Myers of Anchorage; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
