`Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Houston, 1131 North Market Street. Until her marriage, Mrs. Houston was Miss Fannie Eddy. She is president of the Board of the Salvation Army Rescue Home and a member of the Public Health Nursing Association. Mr. Houston attended Kentucky University and the Cincinnati Law School where he was graduated. He is a member of the Country and Wichita Clubs. Joseph D. Houston, age 78, well known Wichita attorney and judge, at his home at 1131 North Market. He practiced law in Kansas for more than 50 years. Born in North Middleton, Kentucky, on February 17, 1858. After education in law at Cincinnati, he came to Wichita after four years of legal work in Arkansas City and Winfield. Married Miss Fanny Eddy April 8, 1885. She had come to Kansas with her parents from Michigan. Survivors include the wife, two daughters, Mrs. T. P. Kahoe of Philadelphia, and Mrs. M. C. Naftzger, 312 North Belmont, and four grandsons including Lee and John Naftzger of Wichita and two in Philadelphia. Wichita Beacon, September 21, 1936, page 1.
