MRS. VICTOR MURDOCK DIES WHILE ON VISIT TO NEW YORK CITY
End Comes Suddenly at the Home of Her Daughter

Mrs. Victor Murdock died in New York City yesterday afternoon, where she had gone on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Delano, and Captain Delano. She was stricken at noon Sunday, just before going out to dinner, and died three hours later. Mrs. Murdock left Wichita a week ago last Saturday, intending to spend some time with Captain and Mrs. Delano, and later to visit her grandson, Victor Delano, a midshipman at Annapolis. She had written that she was having a happy time in New York. She had attended the theater on Saturday afternoon and was in unusually high spirits Sunday morning.
NATIVE OF INDIANA
Born Mary Pearl Allen at Greencastle, Indiana, July 16, 1874, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Allen. The Allens came to Chanute, Kan., in 1870 and later returned to Indiana where Mrs. Murdock and her brother, Dr. Will H. Allen of Fort Smith, Arkansas, were born. The family moved to Wichita in 1886. Mr. Allen was a pioneer in the development of that part of Wichita now known as College Hill. Mrs. Murdock attended Lewis academy, after which she and Victor Murdock were married. In addition to Mr. Murdock, she is survived by one brother, Dr. Allen, two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Delano and Mrs. Howard Fleeson, and two grandsons, Victor Delano and Allen Fleeson.
