Clifford Raymond Stunkel, 84, of Evansville passed away at 4:41 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh. Clifford was born February 18, 1927 in Haubstadt to Raymond Henry and Dora Carolyn (Besing) Stunkel. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving with the 53rd Infantry Battalion, Fort Sill, OK and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and American Theater Ribbon. Clifford retired after 45 years with Emge Packing Co. in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion in Haubstadt, United Food and Commercial Workers Union and St. Stevens United Church of Christ in Warrenton, IN.

He is survived by: Sons: Larry A. Stunkel (Carmen) of Johor Bahru, Malaysia Thomas G. Stunkel (Connie) of Camby, IN Sister: Sharon Keeker (Rick) of Francisco, IN Brother: Jack Stunkel of Evansville Grandchildren: Elizabeth Stunkel & Kristopher Stunkel, both of Evansville He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Stunkel in 1998.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Reverend Steve Orth officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, where Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will perform full military rites.

Friends may call from 2 pm until 6 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
