RACINE - Della R. (nee: McCauley) Howe, surrounded by her family Della Rose Howe, age 88, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital, West Allis following a three month struggle. Della was born in Warba, Minn., June 25, 1922 the tenth of eleven children of the late Jack and Anna (Nee: Vadnais) McCauley. On December 28, 1940, in Duluth, Minn. she was united in marriage to Clifford W. Howe and they moved to Racine where they raised their family. He preceded her in death April 4, 1997. Della was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a current member of St. Richard Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, and reading. Her faith was important to her, as was praying the rosary. Above all it was caring for and being surrounded by her family, that she treasured the most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and domestic goddess who will be dearly missed. Surviving are her 4 children, Richard (Laura) Howe of Tacoma, Wash., Jeanette (Joe) Marcsis of Racine, Bradley (Donna) Howe of Racine, Carol Fehlberg of Racine; grandchildren, Kip Howe, Rick (Dina) Eisel, Mike (Laura) Eisel, Kim (Terry) Boyster, Jessica Fehlberg (Anthony), Shannon Fehlberg (Matt), Mark (Kara) Howe, Kim (Joel) Stocksdale, Dr. Eric (Joanne) (Howe) Helms; great grandchidren, Stacy Howe, Nick and Taylor Eisel, Alexis and Mikayla Eisel, Arlen and Brian Boyster, Hayden Howe, Abigail, Emily, Benjamin, Hannah, and Katherine Stocksdale, Danica, Arianna, and Anthony Jones, Eric Eisel, Brandon Fehlberg, Abigail and Madeline Helms and one on the way; great-great grandchildren, Easton and Emery; step grandchildren, Ginger (Larry) Urick, Jacqueline (Doug) Brown, Jack Eisel (Phyllis), 17 step great grandchildren; 9 step great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn McCauley, Kitty Roberts, Goldie Mulliver and Malia McCauley; special friend, Debi Vidanovic, special niece, Theresa (John) McCauley, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Barry Fehlberg, granddaughter, Susan (Howe) Helms, grandson, Chip Eisel, great grandson, Steven Eisel, great-great grandson, Randy Smith, step granddaughter, Susan Swanberg (Howe); sisters, Veronica, Mary, and Marge; brothers, John, Jim, Earl, Tom, Jake, Ted, and Bill. Complete funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m until 11:00 a.m., with the rosary being recited at 9:15 a.m., led by Sister Jean Ferstl. At 11:00 a.m., a prayer service will be held with Reverend Richard Molter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. The family wishes to ex tend a special thank you to all the angels at Select Specialty Hospital, Dr. Laura Ulmer and Dr. Mark Choi for your loving and compassionate care you gave to mother and our family these past few months.
