He was the son of Charles Homiller and Catharine Collins Homiller.
On October 13, 1873 as Clayton Homiller, he married Jenyer O. Dette at Chicago, Illinois.
Per the 1900 Census for Washington, District of Columbia, they were the parents of five children with three living.

News From Rockville
Rockville, Maryland, August 22. Thomas C. Homiller has filed suit for divorce from his wife, Jenyer Homiller. The bill charges that on October 21, 1873, the parties were married in Chicago, Illinois by the Rev. William Cheney and that they lived together in Washington, D.C. until August 1, 1900, when the defendant deserted the plaintiff. The defendant now resides in Washington.

In May 1914, he married Bessie M. Ricketts at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ricketts at Seneca, Maryland.
They were the parents of one child.

T.C. Homiller, 89, Ex-Post Office Inspector, Dies
Thomas C. Homiller, 89, former District Post Office Inspector and a lifelong resident of the Capital died yesterday at his residence, 3247 P Street Northwest after a long illness. Entering the post office as a clerk in his early manhood, Mr. Homiller served as Postmaster of Camp Alger, Virginia, training camp for Spanish American War recruits before becoming Inspector of District stations and substations. He retired in 1924. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie M. Homiller, two sons, Thomas C. Jr., a Potomac Electric Power Co. employee and Maurice Homiller, also a post office employee and a daughter, Mrs. Julie A. Krewson, all of this city. Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2PM tomorrow. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
