In memory of Mrs Mary / Averill, Consort of Capt / John Averill, who departed / this life Sept. 18th 1809 in / the 95th year of her age. / Tis but a few whose days amount / To threescore years and ten / And all beyond that short account / Is sorrow, toil, and pain.
[Note: the epitaph includes four lines from Isaac Watts’ version of Psalm 90.]
