Charles Albert Cary Jr. was born at Valeda, Kansas, February 11, 1909, and passed away at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital, October 15, 1965, having attained the age of 56 years, 8 month sand 4 days. Death was attributed to lock jaw. Ab, as he was known to all his friends, had lived in Labette County all his life and since January of 1918 had lived at his present home. He farmed all of his life after graduation from Edna High School. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Cary, his father, Charles A. Cary, three brothers, Ralph Cary, Alden Cary, and Raymond Cary, one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Wilmoth. One brother, Frank, and one sister, Violet, preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Edna, with Rev. Lloyd Perry in charge, assisted by Rev. Robert Pick. Burial was in North Edna Cemetery."
