My dad, Charlie, died when I was age two so I only have a few memories of him. He owned a piano store in Cleveland at the time he married my mother. There was a huge age difference between them, about thirty years.
My father was in the Navy in WW I. He was an Able Seaman.
Charles had been first married to Florence, who he is buried next to. They had two children, Robert Hyde of Fairview Park, Ohio, and Marjorie Miller of Allentown, Pennsylvania, my two half-siblings. They had all daughters, but no sons.
Robert Hyde and his wife Grace, of Fairview Park, had daughters named Carol, Patricia, Judith and Cherie.
Marjorie Hyde Miller and her husband of Allentown, had two daughers, Nancy and Janet.
Unfortunately, we lost touch with all of my father's side of the family by the time I was about 14.
My mom told me that my father was a Shriner and he loved the horseraces.
