Parent's were George Washington Newsom and Nellie Cynthia Clayton. Marvin Newsom Graveside service for Marvin Newsom, 82, will be 2 p. m. Monday at Woodville Cemetery. He died Friday in Porterville following a long illness. A native of Newburg, Ark., he lived in Porterville for 49 years. He was a ditch tender for the Lower Tule Irrigation District, a member of the Methodist Church in Arkansas and attended Porterville Church of the Nazarene. He was past president of the Tule Gem and Mineral Society. Surviving are his wife, Audrey, of Porterville; a son, Wayne Newsom of Porterville; a daughter, Nell Lankford of Porterville; a brother, Glenn Newsom of Pixley; two sisters, Reva Kent of Corvallis, Ore. and Edith Simmons of Harrison, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The Rev. W. H. Dietz of First Church of the Nazarene in Porterville and the Rev. David Alexander of Porterville will officiate. Myres Funeral Services is handling arrangments.
