Former Davis resident, R. B. Hutchins Jr. of Houston, Texas, died June 19, 2003, on his 84th birthday. Hutchins was born to R. B. and Minnie L. Hutchins in 1919 in Davis and graduated from Davis High School. His parents were funeral directors in Davis during the early 1900s and owned the Hutchins Furniture Store.
He was the youngest of seven children: Thamazin, Gladys, Dorothy, Alfred, Joseph and George. His survivors include: his wife, Roberta; three children, Carol, Karen and Richard, and his sister, Dorothy of Oxnard, Calif.
