Daughter of George Washington Newsom and Nellie Cynthia Clayton. Married 1930 in Arkansas to William Thomas "Tommy" Kent. They had three children: Mayva Jean Johnson, 1931 - 1983; Wayde Kenneth, 1933 - 2012; and Lyndell W., 1939 - . They moved to California and she became a member of the Church of Christ in Porterville, CA.. When she moved to Corvallis, OR. in 1985. she transferred her membership to the Corvallis Church of Christ. She later moved to Albany, OR. and became a member of The Hill St. Church of Christ. Date of burial was June 12, 2009
