BIO: John B. Ressiguie one of Middleton's prominent citizens was born in Jefferson County, New York, 2 November 1842. Son of Samuel and Lydia Brown Ressiguie. John B. Ressiguie is the youngest of a family of nine children. He came to to Michigan on a prospecting tour in the year 1860, but returned again to his home state. In the year 1869 he again came to this state and located in Carson City, where he went into mercantile trade until 1880 when he moved to Fulton Center, Gratiot County, where he started a country store in a building 16X20 feet in size. Continuing business in this location until the year 1887. The Toledo, Saginaw and Muskegon Railroad would require stations and they call for business enterprises, so, having secured a tract of land on section seven, on the line of the railroad, he moved his business, building and all, to the new location, opened up business in the merchandising, and thus became the father of the present flourshing Village of Middleton. John B. married Florence E. Trask on the 14th day of April 1884. To this union four children have been born.
