US Congressman, US Senator. Served in the United States Army during the Spanish-American War. Elected to represent New York's 39th and 41st Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1933 to 1951. Also served as a Member of the New York State Assembly from 1905 to 1910, Speaker of the New York State Assembly from 1906 to 1910, Delegate to the Republican National Convention from New York in 1920, and 1924, and United States Senator from New York from 1915 to 1927, being defeated in 1926.
