He was a US Army veteran and a barber by trade. He attended New Life Victory Church,was a member of VFW Post 9738 Guyandotte, and the American Legion Post 177 Barboursville.
Survivors include:
three sons, Richard McComas, Timothy McComas and David McComas all of Champaign, IL;
two sisters, Myrtle M. Ross of Barboursville, and Mabell McNeely of Sapaula, OK;
a niece Brenda Strother of Flatwoods, KY;
three grandchildren, Keith, Casey, and Kaitlin McComas; several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial was at Baylous Cemetery with Dwight Barker officiating.
