Richard E. Bloom, 60, of Curwensville, passed away on Sept. 9, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.

Mr. Bloom was born Jan. 6, 1951 in Clearfield, the son of James C. and Hallie L. (Sloppy) Bloom.

He was self employed in heating and plumbing.

Mr. Bloom was a member of the Curwensville V.F.W. and Moose and the Clearfield Eagles.

He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in the County Line Band and loved country music.

Mr. Bloom is survived by a daughter, Kelli Marie Bloom Maitre, two grandchildren; Levi Lippert and Whitney Maitre, all of Mineral Springs, four brothers and two sisters; Charles Sloppy and his wife Morgan of Lajose, James Bloom and his wife Judy of New Millport, William Bloom of Curwensville, Joan Hensley of Clearfield, Judy Bloom and her companion Dave Freeberg of Clearfield and Roger Bloom of Lewistown. Also surviving is his companion, Bonnie Hoover and her two children, Jesse and Shane Hoover of Curwensville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Hanna Bloom, maternal grandparents, Byron and Ethel Sloppy, a brother, Ronald Duane Bloom, two sisters; Mary Jane Bloom and Ada Jean Bishop and several nieces.

At the request of Mr. Bloom there will be no public visitation or services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
