Walter Everett Johnson was born on July 27, 1914 in Sayre,(sic) OK. and passed away March 17, 1988 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Funeral services were held Sunday March 20, 1988 at the Sayre Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m. with Eddie Beard officiating. Burial was in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.

Everett, the son of Walter Herman and Lucille Bridges Johnson has always made his home in the Sayre Community. He married Jessie Florence Criswell in Sayre on April 24, 1937 and she preceded him in death in 1977. Everett had been a dinner, farmer and restaurant owner before his retirement. He was a member of the Sayre Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jessie.

He is survived by: two sons, Marshall D. Johnson of Sayre, OK and O.J. Holiday of Angleton, TX. Also he survived by one sister, Glayds Melton of Redondo Beach, CA. and two brothers, Melvin and Leroy Johnson, both of Sayre, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
