Merle Baird Bowden, died Dec 2, 2008 in Roy, Utah. She was born May 5, 1937 in Ogden, Utah to June Baird and Iven Petersen.

Merle married Paul Ghizzone in 1958 and later divorced. She married Paul Bowden in 1965, he died in 1993.

Merle was a kind and loving mom, grandmother and aunt who embraced life with a positive attitude and a caring heart.

She was sincere and gracious, always putting others before herself.

We all remember her famous spaghetti, potato salad, and her fabulous collection of salt and pepper shakers.

Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She spoke of them with such pride in her voice and love in her heart.

She enriched and blessed the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are two sons, Dean (Sue) Ghizzone of Portland, Oregon, Dave (Erin Gardner) Ghizzone of Bountiful, Utah; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Darwin Baird of Stoddard and Duane (Maureen) Baird of Vista, CA; and special friends, Teisha Zanone and Kristy Olsen.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Larry; sister, Rosann; and one grandson, Tony.
