Joann D. Allamand, age 74, formerly of the Grand View & Cable, WI area, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Northern Lights HCC in Washburn, WI. She was born February 9, 1937 in Fergus Falls, MN the daughter of Alvin & Selma (Olson) Piepho.
Joann was a 1954 graduate of Elbow Lake High School in Minnesota. She resided in Fergus Falls, MN where she worked for Moen Realty for 13 years. On May 5, 1962 she married Lawrence Allamand. From 1968 to 1979 they were residents of Coralville, IA before moving to the Grand View and Cable, WI area. Joann worked for the Lakewoods Resort in Cable for a number of years. The past couple years she has been a resident at Northern Lights HCC in Washburn, WI.
Her hobbies included playing bingo, flower gardening and baking. She loved her family and really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three children, twin siblings, Renae Allamand of Orlando, FL & Randy Allamand of Sebring, FL and Steven (Cheri) Allamand of Grand View, WI; 5 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Piepho of Roseville, MN; sister-in-law, Marilou Piepho of Budd Lake, NJ; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Piepho and her former husband, Lawrence Allamand.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Frost Home For Funerals in Ashland, WI. Pastor Tom Wagner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home and continue after the service. A family graveside service and inurnment will take place in the Grand View Cemetery at a later date.
