Adolphus Irving Clement, whose death occurred from an automobile accident, was born in Searsburg, Vt. April 28, 1902 and was the son of John and Mary Leray Clement and was 46 years old. He attended the public school here and had practically spent his entire life in town. He was lister at the time of death. He was a kind neighbor and friend always ready to help in any way that he could. He will be sadly missed by his neighbors and friends as well as in his home. He had a good standing in the Lodge of Eagles in Bennington of which he was a member. He leaves to mourn his loss, three brothers and five sisters; John, Joe and Corlis Clement; Mrs. Cora Belknap, Mrs. Dorothy Morrison, Mrs. Clara Day, Mrs. Coris Briggs and Mrs. Bessie Hagat. The funeral was held from the home of his brother, John Clement, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial took place at the Crosier cemetery with Rev. John R. Nelson of Wilmington officiating. The pall bearers were Dewey O'Brien, Henry Davis, Joseph Godin and George Briggs. Many beautiful floral tributes attested to the love of relatives and friends. Those from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Neibling of North Troy, N.Y.; Mrs. Eddie Johnson of Earlsville, N.Y.; John Day of Smyra, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. William Morrison of Pittsfield, Mass.; Sam Rounds and Alice Briggs and son, Leslie, of Williamstown, Mass.; Florence Hagar of Woodford; Joseph Godin of Bennington; Mr. and Mrs. George Davis and Mrs. Sarah Frazer and Mrs. Gordon Watt.
