Barbara Elizabeth McSweeney Frevert, 53, of New Franklin, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in New Franklin with the Rev. Thomas Reimer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Markland Funeral Home.
Mrs. Frevert was born May 8, 1946, in Woburn, Mass., to James and Barbara Randall McSweeney.
She married Frank Frevert on July 29, 1967, in Woburn, and he survives.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, New Franklin Chapter No. 447, since 1969. She was appointed by the worthy matron to the office of district deputy grand matron in 1993 and appointed to the office of state representative to Washington state in 1995 and 1996. She served as worthy matron of the New Franklin chapter in 1983, 1988, 1992 and 1998. She had been a member of the OES Friendship Club since 1989.
She was a member of the New Franklin PTO and served on the school board since 1980. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and a member of the women's fellowship, church council and ladies evening circle.
She had been a homemaker and babysitter and later was employed as a caregiver for Homecare of Mid-Missouri. She worked as a prep cook at The Bobber restaurant.
Survivors also include two sons, Kevin Randall Frevert of Boonville and Jesse Lee Frevert of New Franklin; two daughters, Tracey Elizabeth Kraus of Pilot Grove and Amanda Lynn Frevert of New Franklin; her mother, Barbara McSweeney of New Franklin; three brothers, James McSweeney of Woburn, Mass., David McSweeney of Louisville, Colo., and Brian McSweeney of Nashua, N. H.; one sister, Patricia Swindell of Woburn, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel United Church of Christ of New Franklin Schools in care of the funeral home.
