MARION, Va. Wanda Carmella Goodson, age 67, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, N.C. She was born in Smyth County on April 9, 1944, and was preceded in death by her parents Henry L. Goodson and Dema Diggs Goodson. She was a very sweet and loving sister. Survivors include two brothers, Charles Goodson and wife, Elaine, Bogart, Ga., Kenneth Goodson and wife, Betty, Spencer, N.C.; four sisters, Hazel Louthen and husband, Campbell, Bluff City, Tenn., Imogene Morelock and husband, Dillard, Mt. Carmel, Tenn., Linda Parker, Cumberland, Va., Judy Martin and husband, Junior, Chilhowie, Va.; half-brother, James Goodson; special friends, Jimmy Ward, Martha and Roy; several nieces, nephews, and other loving family members also survive and many friends in Marion, Va. and Boone, N.C. A special thank you to Dr. Yvonne Mack and her staff at Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Lentz and the staff at Wake Forrest University Medical Center and Paul and Sharon Gragg and Staff at Mountain Care Assisted Living Home. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with the Rev. William McCollian officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
