Virginia M. Snook, 62 of Winfield, Kansas passed away Saturday February 3, 1996 at Wm. Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield.
She was born November 13, 1933 in Oklahoma, one of six children born to Frank and Alta Mae Malone Stone. The family moved to Dexter, Kansas when she was a child, and was reared and educated in Dexter. She graduated in 1951 at Dexter High School.
Virginia moved to Winfield in 1951 and was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone company for ten years.
She was a twenty-two year employee of Winfield State Hospital and Training Center, serving as switchboard operator from 1973 until December 1995.
A member of the First Assembly of God Church, Winfield, her interests included nature, walking and hiking, and Bible study.
Her family includes one son, Craig H. Snook and wife Kim of Rogerville, Mo, one daughter, Pamela G. Stonehocker and husband Lowell of Wichita, Kansas. Also two brothers, Wayne Stone of Nampa, Idaho and LeRoy Pinard of Oklahoma. Two sisters, Norma Cox and Ethel Howell and husband Walter, all of Winfield and two grandchildren, Brandon and Jeremiah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister Fern Matthews.
