G.W. "Pete" Albritton, 75, of Arcadia, died on Monday, March 7, 2011, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1936, in Hillsborough County, and came to DeSoto County from Hardee County 30 years ago. He was a block mason, and attended Pine Level Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorice Polk Albritton.
He is survived by two daughters, Anitia Albritton and husband Myles of Bowling Green, and Ruth Ann Soles and husband David of Arcadia; brother Danny Albritton and wife Dot of Crystal River; sister Barbara Mott of Fort Meade; four grandchildren, Emmett Albritton and William Albritton, and Mandy Soles and Kasey Soles; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robarts Garden Chapel in Wauchula. Services are tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Bowling Green, with Lavon Cobb and the Rev. Steve Polk officiating. Interment follows in Bowling Green Cemetary.
