Charles C. Alger, Retired, Dires at 82 After Long Illness. Charles C. Alger, 82 of 609 1st Ave. died last night at Eden Park Nursing Home following a long illness. A native of Cohoes, Mr. Alger had resided in Troy the greater part of his life. Prior to his retirement about 20 years ago he had been employed as a foreman for 40 years by Cluett, Peabody & Co., Inc. Mr. Alger, who was husband of the late Sara Bell Alger, is survived by three sons. Harold J. Alger of Wells, Maine, Edward T. Alger of Schenectady and Robert T. Alger of Troy; a daugher, Mrs. Mary Bulson of Schenectady, several grandchildren and great-grandchilden and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Webb of Troy and Mrs. Robert Simmons of Glens Falls. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon from Fonda's Funeral Home, 837 river St. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
