18 Jan. 1940, The Times Record, pg. 3. Mrs. Charles C. Alger died last night at her home in Eagle Mills after a long illness. Born in Troy 54 years ago, she was formerly Miss Sarah Turner. She had resided here most of her life, moving to Eagle Mills six years ago. She was a member of the Sixth Avenue baptist Church and of its Philathea Class. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Ira Bulson of Eagle Mills; five sons, Harold J. Alger of West Sand Lake, Russell W. Alger of San Francisco, Cal.; Charles I., Edward T., and Robert T. Alger, all of Eagle Mills, and a sister Mrs. Emma Lee of Albany. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 pm from Fonda's funeral home, 837 River St. and at 2:30 pm from the Sixth Avenue Baptist Church where Rev. George R. Bennett, pastor, will official. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
