ATTICA - Elizabeth M. (Betty) Traffas, 87, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Rosary Sunday 7:00 PM, September 18, and Funeral Mass Monday 10 AM, September 19, both at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon, KS. Burial at St. Boniface Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends following services served by the Altar Society at St. Boniface School. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis A. Traffas, daughter Rosemary, her parents Charles and Estelle Duckworth, and grandsons Clint Bayer and Dusty Traffas. She is survived by daughters Gloria (Norman) Bayer of Wichita; Kathy (John) Dohm of Sharon; Mary (Ron) Ryan of Lincoln, NE; sons Charlie (Brenda) Traffas of Wichita; Tim (Pat) Traffas of Sharon; Rory (Jacque) Traffas of Medicine Lodge; 29 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, extended family and friends. Betty and Francis farmed and raised livestock, including registered Hereford cattle, at Sharon. She was postmaster at Sharon, KS for 18 years, a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Altar Society, and was active in writing and contesting throughout her life.
