The middle of three sons of Rev. N. P & Carrie Catherine (Arford) France. Only a few weeks away from graduating from high school, where he was a class officer, star athlete, and top scholar. Robert died of severe nosebleed that a local doctor could not stop. He was quickly taken to the hospital in Danville, Illinois where he died. It was later determined he has a blood disorder leading to the hemorrhaging. Rev. France was the minister at the Veedersburg United Brethren Church at the time of Robert's death.
