BIBB, Ray Richard, died Friday, becoming one in spirit with his higher power at the age of 91. A faithful and cherished member of the New River Baptist Temple, he devoted many of the years with which he was blessed to serving and honoring God. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was a "Ray of sunshine" to everyone he met. The son of Charles Walton Bibb and Mattie Linkous Bibb, he was born in Radford October 7, 1910. In addition to his parents, brothers and sisters, he was predeceased by an infant son, Carlos, and a beautiful daughter, Janie Bibb Lynn. His best friend and faithful companion, Spot, also survives him. Mr. Bibb was a loyal employee of the City of Radford for 45 years. He was an avid hunter, gardener and missionary of the church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the New River Baptist Temple in Dublin. Pastor Rick Bollick will officiate and Mr. Bibb will be carried to his resting place at Central Cemetery by the brothers of his church family.
