KING, Charles T. of Saginaw passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 89 years old.

Charles T. King was born January 5, 1922 in Saginaw to the late Ruth (Wilson) and Burtcel King. He married Lois Baragar on February 4, 1961 in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2006.

Charles served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army. He then was employed with General Motors at the Nodular Iron plant retiring in 1980 after 35 years of service.
Charles was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the American Legion, V.F.W. Post #1566 as a color guard member, former vice president of the Washington Society, and lifetime member of the Moose. Charles also enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, watching and feeding the birds and camping in Glennie with his family.

Charles is survived by his children: Donna Butcher of Tucson, AZ, Nancy McRath of Saginaw, Michelle (Adam) Oswald of Bay City, Jan (Cliff) Shephard of Saginaw, and Joe (Diane) Hudson of Henderson, NV; 11 grandchildren: Jeff, Bob (Rosie), Jim, Chuck (Abbey), Micayl, Bill, Shannon, Chelsea, Cliff, Tammy and Rick; several great and great great grandchildren: a sister, Rosemary (Duwayne) Wortly; a dear friend, Barb; and his best friend and companion, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carolann Sealy; grandson, Todd Butcher; two sisters and five brothers.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Cartwright Hospice Residence for their love and attention given to their Dad, Charlie.

FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Charles' will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua, 3680 S. Washington Rd. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied, OFMCap will officiate with burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of the U.S. Army and American Legion Post #439.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Charles will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
